The value-added
plant production
Promoting solutions for a new agricultural culture
ID GRAIN, as a specialist in plant breeding, is dedicated to the genetic improvement of plants to offer innovative, efficient and sustainable agricultural solutions. We are implementing our vision of “value-added plants” to meet current and future challenges. In our view, the new agricultural culture must play a central role in the continuous improvement of food, the performance of agricultural production, the reduction of our carbon footprint and in the fight against global warming.
Plant breeding: At the heart of our business
Plant breeding constitutes the central pillar of our activity. By working on the genetic link, we aim to improve plant production, resilience and adaptability. Our goal is to provide genetic solutions that meet the needs of farmers, distributors, processors and, ultimately, consumers. Diversification of plant production and the evolution of agronomic practices are essential to respond to current challenges and promote a new agricultural culture.
Innovation and sustainability
Plant breeding allows us to develop new suitable products to more sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. We are committed to select species and varieties requiring fewer inputs and pesticides, in line with a demanding agro-environmental policy. Our selection is geared towards the development of high-performance varieties adapted to climate change, resistant and tolerant to crop aggressors, low water consumers and meeting the needs of agricultural markets.
Added value on several fronts
- Genetic
We develop high-performance varieties that are resistant to disease and climate stress, thus ensuring reliable and sustainable production. - agronomy
By optimizing technical itineraries and cultivation practices, we help farmers maximize their yield while minimizing environmental impact. - Choice of Species and Rotations
By selecting species wisely and planning effective rotations, we improve soil health and multi-year productivity on farms. We work to improve cropping practices by integrating new species into rotations and extending them. - Production and storage
Beyond the field, our protocols include improvement advice in the areas of harvesting, storage, cleaning and sorting of seeds. We thus contribute to the improvement of the value chain, up to the industrial processing of our seeds.By integrating the new agricultural culture and by diversifying the plant production, ID GRAIN meets societal and environmental expectations. Through these practices, we actively contribute to the transition to a sustainable and resilient agricultural model.
Ensuring food safety and quality
Plants represent a response to the growing concerns of citizens and consumers, as well as to industrial and climatic challenges. Continuous plant improvement helps address new issues related to disease, stress and climate change. By adapting our practices, we help ensure food safety and quality.
Furthermore, the development of the supply of plant proteins provides a concrete response to the new challenges of production and consumption. They play a key role in the transition to a more sustainable and resilient agricultural model. Their production generally requires fewer natural resources than animal production, particularly in terms of water, energy and agricultural land. This reduced pressure on ecosystems contributes to the sustainability of our food systems while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By producing new sources of protein, we also strengthen our country's food sovereignty and reduce dependence on imports of animal or plant proteins from intensive monocultures.
By integrating this diversification, we are preparing a new agricultural model capable of feeding an expanding world population, while preserving natural resources and guaranteeing a balanced diet that is accessible to all.
