Brassica juncea, Brassicaceae (Brassicaceae – Cruciferous)
Brown mustard is primarily grown for its grains, which are used in the production of condiments, oils and some industrial applications.
Highly adaptable, brown mustard is cultivated in temperate environments, requiring few inputs and providing good ground cover, making it also an excellent choice for crop rotation and weed control.
It is also used as green manure in organic farming thanks to its ability to enrich soils and reduce erosion.
Millet
Panicum miliaceum, Poaceae (Poaceae – Grass)
The seed of white, yellow, foxtail, red millet) used for human consumption must be shelled and are gluten-free. Nutritionally, they provide good amounts of fatty acids, phosphorus, magnesium, iron and vitamin B. They are also higher in fiber than wheat or barley.
Millet is used in the manufacture of breads, cereals and traditional dishes, as well as in animal feed.
Millet is also highly valued in bird feeding for its nutritional qualities and ease of consumption by birds. There are several types, including white millet, yellow millet, red millet, fox tail millet and moha, each with specific characteristics in terms of grain size and texture.
Millet is a fast-growing cereal. It is particularly suited to poor soils and arid climates.
White millet, proso millet or common millet
Yellow Millet
Red millet or red proso millet
Millade, Fox tail Millet or Moha
Setaria italica, Poaceae (Poaceae – Grass)
Foxtail millet, also known as Hulled millet, millade or Moha, is grown for its nutrient-rich grains, mainly used as bird feed.
Beyond bird feeding, the foxtail millet can be used as fodder for livestock or in poultry feed, as it is rich in carbohydrates and easily digestible. It is also found in some traditional cuisines.
Cannabis sativa, Cannabaceae (Cannabaceae)
Hemp seeds are rich in protein, essential fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6) and fiber. They are widely used in human food (vegetarian products, edible oils and plant-based protein products) as well as in animal feed (birds and fish).
Our French grains show a low THC content (psychoactive compound) and pose no risk of dependency.
Hemp also has industrial applications, particularly in the manufacture of textiles, construction materials and biofuels.
From an agronomic perspective, hemp is a resilient, fast-growing crop, tolerant of various soil types and well-suited to temperate climates. It is known for improving soil structure through its deep root system and promoting biodiversity.
Carthamus tinctorius, Asteraceae (Asteraceae – Compositae)
Safflower is an annual oilseed plant. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and primarily used for oil extraction, human consumption (cooking oils) and the cosmetics industry.
The seeds can also be used in
animal feed, especially for birds.
Safflower is adapted to arid and semi-arid climates. It is drought-resistant and integrates well into sustainable cropping systems. In agriculture, it is valued for its ability to improve soil structure through its deep root system.
Arachis hypogaea, Fabaceae (Fabaceae – Legume)
Peanut in shell
Hulled peanut
Hulled and peeled peanut
Avena sativa, Poaceae (Poaceae – Grass)
White Oat
Oatmeal or Oat groat
Black Oat
Avena strigosa, Poaceae (Poaceae – Grass)
Hulled Oat
Avena nuda, Poaceae (Poaceae – Grass)
Oryza sativa, Poaceae (Poaceae – Grass)
Paddy Rice
Paddy rice is raw rice that has not yet been hulled.
It is harvested directly from the field and requires further processing before consumption.
It is used as a raw material in rice processing to obtain products such as white rice and parboiled rice.
Parboiled Rice
White broken Rice
Sorghum bicolor, Poaceae (Poaceae – Grass)
White Sorghum
Sorghum bicolor var. leucolor
Red Sorghum
Sorghum bicolor var. technical
